Why the consultation costs something
An opinion that does not have to sell anything.
A practice that lives on treatment turnover has an interest in you being treated. A consultation that costs something does not have that interest.
That is why I can also tell you that in your position I would wait — or that the plan you brought with you is fine. The amount is not a deposit but the fee for an independent service under § 2 GOZ.

What has been done, what bothers you, what another dentist has proposed. Bring whatever you have — treatment and cost plans, X-rays, findings.
Complete, under magnification
Teeth, gums, tooth-supporting structures and existing restorations — under the operating microscope and loupes with 6.0 to 13.5× magnification. Photographic documentation of every relevant finding.
Bite and jaw joint
Assessment of bite guidance and jaw joint. If the findings suggest it, we plan an instrumental functional analysis with the CADIAX® system — an examination that only a few practices in the Wuppertal area offer.
Assessment and cost plan
I tell you what I see, what the options are and which one I consider right for your situation — including the option of doing nothing for now. You receive a written treatment and cost plan under GOZ with alternatives, laboratory costs and the total amount.

When a second opinion makes sense
Not every situation needs one. These often do.
- You have been offered an extensive restoration — several crowns, bridges or implants — and want to know whether it has to be on that scale.
- You have a treatment and cost plan running into four figures and do not understand exactly what for.
- A tooth is to be extracted and you would like it checked whether it can be preserved.
- You have jaw joint complaints, clicking, head or neck pain, and no cause has been found so far.
- A restoration has not been sitting properly for months, and adjustments have changed nothing.
- It is about a comprehensive rehabilitation of the whole dentition, and you want to know what the planning is based on.
- You have been told there is too little bone for an implant.
- You are changing practice and would like a complete assessment in peace rather than a brief check-up.

What the assessment is based on
We do not treat individual teeth but assess the masticatory system as a whole — teeth, musculature and jaw joints in context. Three areas interlock here.
Functional dentistry and gnathology
Every extensive rehabilitation begins with an instrumental functional analysis. We work with the CADIAX® system by GAMMA Dental (Austria), which records the individual lower jaw movements and the jaw joint function.
The result is restorations that not only fit but work with the movement.

Microsurgical implantology
Surgical procedures are carried out under strong optical magnification or with the operating microscope. Microsurgical working spares the tissue and keeps the procedure as small as possible.
Even cases classified elsewhere as not suitable for implants can often still be assessed this way.

Measuring instead of estimating
When the pain does not come from the tooth
Most bite problems are estimated. The CADIAX® system by GAMMA Dental measures them: it records the actual movements of your lower jaw and both jaw joints and makes visible what an X-ray cannot show.
The result is a measurement curve, not an estimate — and the basis on which we plan crowns, bridges and splints before the first preparation is made.
If your findings point in that direction, we discuss the recording at the consultation and schedule it as a separate appointment. The costs are set out in the cost plan beforehand.

- Purely private practice: We do not bill through the statutory health insurance, not even in part. Patients with statutory insurance pay themselves, under a written agreement made before treatment begins.
- The reservation is free of charge. You receive a confirmation by email immediately.
- You can rebook or cancel at any time yourself — via the link in the confirmation email.
- Please cancel at least 48 hours in advance if it does not suit. The time is firmly reserved for you.
- The 200 € are billed at the appointment — on the basis of a fee agreement under § 2 GOZ that we sign together beforehand.
- For a follow-up treatment with us the 200 € are credited in full.
Call around the clock
In the evening, at night and at weekends too. Your appointment is entered during the call — you do not have to wait for a call back.
Outside consulting hours a digital assistant takes your request and enters the appointment. Treatment takes place Monday to Friday, 8–17 — short-notice appointments are often available.
Frequently asked questions
What patients want to know beforehand
I have statutory insurance. Can I still come?
Yes. You then pay yourself. We do not bill through the statutory health insurance as a matter of principle, not even in part. Before treatment begins we conclude a written agreement about this — so you know in advance what is coming.
Do I get the 200 € back if I decide against treatment?
The consultation is an independent service with its own result: examination, assessment and a written cost plan. The 200 € are charged for that, regardless of how you decide afterwards. If you decide on treatment with us, the amount is credited in full against the first invoice.
Do I have to pay in advance?
No. Through the calendar you only reserve the appointment — free of charge and without payment details. The 200 € are only billed at the appointment. Beforehand we sign a fee agreement under § 2 GOZ, so that the amount is fixed in writing before anything begins.
Can I submit the invoice to my insurer?
Privately insured patients and those entitled to public-sector allowance receive an invoice under GOZ and submit it as usual. How much is reimbursed depends on the tariff — that is not something we can promise. Anyone with supplementary dental insurance can submit the cost plan there before treatment begins.
My case is extensive. Are 90 minutes enough for it?
For examination, functional assessment and a robust evaluation, yes — including for extensive rehabilitations. What this appointment does not deliver is the finished detailed planning of a full-mouth restoration: for that an instrumental functional analysis is generally additionally required. Which steps those would be and what they cost is set out in writing in your cost plan at the end of the appointment.
What should I bring?
Everything you have relating to your situation: existing treatment and cost plans, X-rays on CD or as a file, findings, your bonus booklet, a list of your medication. The more that is available, the more robust the assessment.
Will treatment already take place at this appointment?
No. The appointment is diagnostics and consultation. That is deliberate: treatment decisions should not be made in the same appointment in which the findings are on the table for the first time.
What happens to the cost plan if I have treatment elsewhere?
It belongs to you. You can take it with you, examine it in peace and also present it to your previous dentist. That is exactly what it is for.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
